The REVIEW's Statement Regarding
The Sept. 23 Singapore Decision

We are disappointed with the decision finding against the Far Eastern Economic Review in the libel actions brought by Lee Hsien Loong and Lee Kuan Yew.  It is notable that the court has determined that the public interest privilege that is available in the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth countries, is not applicable in Singapore.  We are considering an appeal.

Yup fight to the last drop. Word's out. All Singaporeans are watching. This injustice has gone unanswered for far too long.

Based, partly, on the ridiculous finding of the so-called "court" in support of the corrupt buffoons who claim to be "leaders" of Singapore, I am considering becoming a subscriber to the FEER. It's a publication that has consistently showed itself to be way ahead of the rest of the media pack. The supposedly "offending" article, as many of the other pieces one finds in FEER, is very well written; it's certainly far more objective than the shallow (& callow) Lee's could ever hope to be.

Don't just consider, appeal! Love to see this continuing childplay saga played out in the cyberspace. Two bullheaded/obstinate elderly pensioners- one for traditional Confucius values, the other for demo-cracy & freedom of gibberish speech just for the sake of self-satisfaction. Great stuff! Watch this space............... part 100,013 coming up! Incidentally, see, I am free to speak?
